Job summary

Gooch & Housego Pal Alto is seeking an experienced Senior Optical Assembler to join our team. The role involves assembly of optical components, wiring, soldering, wire bonding, and optical alignment using a microscope, with print tolerances.

You will perform in-process QC, interpret assembly documentation, maintain logs, and uphold cleanroom and EHS standards. Candidates should have 5–8+ years in related field, strong manual dexterity, and ability to work under a microscope.

Qualifications

• Requires strong manual dexterity and precision under a microscope.
• Ability to interpret assembly drawings and documentation.
• Experience with wire bonding, crystal attach, and soldering.

Responsibilities

• Wire bonding, crystal attach, electrical testing, and soldering components.
• Maintain work travelers and logbooks.
• Interpret assembly documentation and perform basic optical assembly.
• Clean optical components using microscopes and approved solvents.
• Assist with optical alignment under guidance.
• Apply adhesives (UV) and support curing processes.
• Conduct in-process QC and visual inspections for defects.
• Follow standard work instructions and documentation procedures.
• Enter production data and maintain cleanroom compliance.
