Job summary

G&H Group in Fremont, CA, seeks a Senior Optical Assembler to join our precision optics team. You will perform wiring, crystal attach, soldering, wire bonding, and optical alignment under supervision, using microscopes and fixtures.

The role requires 5–8+ years in optical assembly, excellent manual dexterity, ability to read assembly docs, and fluency with PCBA solder touch-ups. Experience with oscilloscopes and opto-mechanical assemblies is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of experience in optical assembly or related field.
• Strong manual dexterity and precise hand–eye coordination.
• Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly documentation and technical drawings.
• Experience with opto-mechanical assemblies.
• Fluency in solder touch-up on PCBA.
• Wire bonding experience is helpful.
• Basic understanding of electronics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Wire bonding, crystal attach, electrical testing, and soldering components.
• Maintain work travelers and logbooks.
• Interpret assembly documentation.
• Clean optical components using microscopes and approved solvents.
• Assemble optical components using fixtures and hand tools.
• Assist with optical alignment setups under guidance.
• Apply adhesives (UV glue) and support curing processes.
• Conduct visual inspection for defects and contamination.
• Follow standard work instructions and documentation procedures.
• Data entry for production tracking.
• Maintain cleanroom protocols and EHS compliance.
• Perform in-process QC of all work performed.
