Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Operations Analyst in San Francisco, CA, with a hybrid work model (3 days in-office). You will tackle complex safety and risk problems, translating signals into durable operational solutions and owning high-impact investigations and readiness work.

You will work across teams, build lightweight workflows and tools, and measure outcomes to improve quality, speed, and risk mitigation while coaching junior operators.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in trust and safety, investigations, or similar high-judgment operational fields.
• Proven track record as a scrappy generalist who can handle unstructured problems with limited guidance.
• Strong data fluency, capable of turning qualitative signals into actionable insights.
• Hands-on with AI tools, dashboards, and data tooling to prototype practical solutions.
• Ability to operate independently, make clear tradeoffs, and drive momentum when priorities shift.

Responsibilities

• Own ambiguous, high-priority safety and risk problems; define the problem, gather evidence, choose a practical path, drive execution, and close the loop.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify risks and interventions with measurable impact.
• Build and test lightweight workflows, tools, automate processes, and decision aids for speed and quality.
• Lead investigations, incident response, or launch-readiness work with cross-functional partners.
• Measure outcomes to ensure improvements in quality, speed, coverage, and risk reduction; coach junior operators.
