Job summary

SightMD is seeking a Senior Ophthalmic Technician to support physicians in delivering high-quality eye care across multiple locations. You will manage patient flow, perform pre-exam testing, and assist during examinations under physician guidance.

You will scribe in the EMR, coordinate medications and prior authorizations, and help maintain clinic operations and HIPAA compliance, with a rotating schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years as an ophthalmic technician.
• Strong customer service with professional demeanour.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient computer skills for EMR and scheduling.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Engage with patients and document chief complaints and history.
• Scribe encounters in EMR with physician assessments and plans.
• Administer ocular medications as prescribed.
• Assist during examinations and minor procedures.
• Coordinate prior authorizations and communicate results.
• Maintain exam room readiness and instrument security.
