Job summary

The University of Michigan is seeking a Senior Ophthalmic Technician to support the dystrophy team with ERG testing and related diagnostics. You will review orders, educate patients, document results in the EHR, and ensure safety and quality in testing.

You will also train and mentor other technicians, maintain and troubleshoot ERG equipment, and support continuous quality improvements in patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school.
• Minimum of 10 years of Ophthalmic Technician experience.
• COT certification through the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO).
• Primary Source Verification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-field, multifocal, and pattern ERG and other testing per protocols.
• Review orders and clinical data to verify procedures.
• Prepare patients and educate them about testing processes and comfort.
• Document procedures, responses, and test results in the EHR accurately.
