Job summary

Fraser Eye Care Center in Michigan is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will perform ophthalmic diagnostic tests ordered by the physician and help manage patient data using our EMR system.

Responsibilities include obtaining patient history and chief complaints, conducting vision acuity tests and refractions, performing tests such as visual fields, OCT, IOL Master, iTrace, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• COA or COT certification preferred.
• Proficient with computers and EMR systems.
• Ability to perform diagnostic testing.
• Willingness to work at multiple Fraser Eye locations.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient's chief complaint, present illness, and medical history.
• Perform vision acuity testing and refractions.
• Conduct ophthalmic diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, Pentacam, IOL Master, iTrace, Optos fundus, and angiography, as ordered by the physician.
• Manage patient data efficiently using the electronic medical record system.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and work collaboratively within a team.
