Job summary

PTS Advance seeks a Shift Team Supervisor for our Bakersfield, CA facility. The role oversees one of four shifts, directing operators and logistics to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production. It requires coordinating day-to-day activities, maintaining safety standards, and leading on-call during nights and weekends.

The position emphasizes leadership, process reliability, and incident command while supporting maintenance planning and shift scheduling in a long-term contract.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 10 years refinery/petrochemical experience with 2 years leadership preferred.
• Experience with DCS consoles and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts.
• Strong safety and incident command understanding.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead day-to-day operations for one of four shifts.
• Provide leadership and set expectations for crew performance.
• Act as on-call lead during off hours and weekends.
• Maintain safe operation and health standards per company policies.
• Coordinate shift scheduling and coverage during vacations or training.
• Oversee training and qualification of operators and panel staff.
• Review and approve work orders; prioritize tasks per policy.
• Lead safety, reliability, and continuous improvement programs.
