Job summary

PTS Advance in Bakersfield, CA is seeking control room operators to support current plant operations of utilities and logistics and assist the site's transition to renewable fuels production.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with 4-5 positions available; start date ASAP; pay: $49.00 per hour. You will monitor units, perform rounds, and follow SOPs while maintaining safety standards and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years experience in refining or chemical plant operations.
• Associates degree or higher and Honeywell DCS experience preferred.
• Two years of experience in mechanical maintenance preferred.
• Honeywell DCS board operation preferred.
• Associate or technology degree in process technology or science discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate process and utility units, tank farms/logistics.
• Perform and document unit rounds.
• Adjust, start, stop production equipment per SOPs.
• Maintain system processes within targets and operating limits.
• Safely collect samples for product quality issues.
• Communicate with operators, maintenance, and supervisor for field adjustments.
• Operate valves, meters, pumps and transfer systems.
• Follow safety and environmental programs.
• Perform housekeeping and on-call availability.
• Report safety deficiencies and take corrective action.
