Air Force Civilian Service seeks a Senior Operations Research Analyst (GS-1515-14) to support the Secretary of the Air Force, SAF/SA, at the Pentagon. You will initiate, apply, and plan major studies addressing Air Force and Space Force structure, key programs, and acquisition decisions.

Travel up to 25% is required; the role is not eligible for telework. U.S. citizenship and Top Secret/SCI clearance are required, with transcripts to be submitted as part of the application.

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Senior Operations Research Analyst (GS-1515-14) to work for the Secretary of the Air Force, Studies and Analysis (SAF/SA) at the Pentagon, Washington DC.

Salary: $143,913-$187,093

Up to 25% travel possible

Position not eligible for telework

You will serve as a senior operations research analyst providing expertise in initiating, applying, and planning major studies in direct support of the Secretary of the Air Force, the Air Force Chief of Staff, and Chief of Space Operations. You will be expected to perform, manage, and direct complex and diverse independent analyses informing decisions and risk-mitigating options with respect to Air Force and Space Force structure, key programs, and critical operational and acquisition decisions.

Qualifications/Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
• This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employees must pass initial and periodic short-notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.

• Transcripts must be included.
• Knowledge of expert quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions.
• Ability to participate in study teams; originate new ideas, projects. and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints.
• Ability to recognize and use correct English grammar, punctuation. and spelling; communicate information in writing in a succinct and organized manner; and produce written information, including technical material, which is appropriate for the intended audience.
• Must exhibit a high degree of judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and the ability to foresee the impact of changing technology.
