Job summary

WGI is seeking an experienced Operations Manager - RPLS with 5+ years post-licensure in Texas to join our Austin or Houston offices.

You will lead geospatial teams on large-scale corridor and land surveys, manage timelines and budgets, and ensure quality while coordinating with discipline leads and clients.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas.
• 5+ years of post-licensure progressive experience.
• Associates or Bachlor Degree in Geomatics preferred.
• Strong technical and surveying software knowledge.
• Strong leadership, managerial, and supervisory experience.
• Strong communication, writing, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Requires a valid driver's license and acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead business development efforts
• Lead, mentor, and manage team members through performance management to include goal setting, coaching, feedback and one-on-one meetings
• Collaborate with other departments and discipline leads in scheduling objectives and project milestones
• Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and professional growth
• Represent the firm professionally in meetings with existing and prospective clients, and at industry events and conferences
• Oversee and execute land surveying activities, including boundary analysis for large-scale corridor, route, and commercial land surveys
• Manage project time-lines and budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to project deliverables
• Sign and seal surveys, maps, and other survey-related documents as the responsible professional
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
• Promote and enforce safe work practices for team members
• Perform in-process quality control of survey field activities, calculations, and project deliverables
