Job summary

Power Grid Manufacturing, a Greater St. Louis metal fabrication operation, seeks an Operations Manager to lead daily plant performance and a major expansion.

You will drive safety, quality, delivery, and productivity while developing supervisors and hourly staff on the manufacturing floor. The role oversees metal fabrication processes (laser cutting, CNC, forming, welding, coating, assembly) and partners with engineering, supply chain, and quality.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of progressive manufacturing experience.
• At least three years in plant/production/operations leadership.
• Experience in metal fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of welding, machining, forming, fabrication, coating, and assembly.
• Hands-on leadership with a track record of developing people.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to interpret operational data and translate into action.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for plant operations.
• Lead production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and supporting functions.
• Establish a strong culture of safety, accountability, and employee engagement.
• Oversee scheduling, labor planning, material flow, and equipment utilization.
• Ensure safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery meet customer expectations.
• Monitor and improve KPIs such as OEE, scrap, and throughput.
