Amazon is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to join our Japan Amazon Logistics team. The goal of Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is to build a world-class last mile operation that delivers to customers efficiently. Amazon aims to exceed customer expectations by ensuring quick, accurate, and cost-effective deliveries, and we are expanding rapidly in Japan.
h3>Key Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives for an Amazon Logistics Delivery Station (DS).
- Manage and lead a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring to meet performance objectives.
- Build positive employee relations and leadership bench strength within the DS.
- Ensure safety, quality, performance, customer experience, and people development across all delivery station operations.
- Drive vision, quality initiatives, process improvements, and lean initiatives to meet and exceed business plans.
- Identify and close performance gaps, setting clear requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers.
- Manage daily relationships with multiple Delivery Service Providers (DSPs).
- Regularly present operational metrics to senior leadership.
- Hire, develop, and retain top talent; create and implement talent plans including performance management, learning, and succession planning.
- Leverage team ideas to develop improvement plans.
- Foster a strong culture and engagement throughout the delivery station team.
- Share best practices across departments and shifts.
- Collaborate with key business partners to support projects and initiatives.

h3>Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
- 10+ years of operations experience (supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, retail, etc.)
- Experience managing a team of 10+ people and developing talent
- Business-level English proficiency

- Extensive operations experience in a fast-growing environment
- 15+ years of operations experience
- Experience leading rapid expansion plans
- Proven track record of delivering multiple programs on time
- Excellent communication skills
- Business-level Japanese proficiency
