Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the Fulfillment Operations Group in the achievement of key goals in order processing, delivery, quality assurance, inventory, purchasing, cost management, layouts, improvements, and staff development.
• Collaborate with Site Director to influence strategic plans and ensure policy compliance.
• Ensure facility compliance with laws and regulations while maintaining a strong safety culture.
• Set and achieve productivity and quality goals across the team and manage performance evaluations of staff.
• Oversee quality assurance metrics, implement best practices, and develop tools to meet quality targets.
• Guide budget management for the value stream and address seasonal labor needs.

Job description

Abacus is looking to hire a Sr. Operations Manager in the North east, MD area.

The Senior Operations Manager provides leadership and supervision to a highly efficient, multi-station production warehouse. This includes (but is not limited to) managing inventory and replenishment, overseeing the production process, and ensuring the timeliness and quality of order completion and delivery to customers. The Senior Operations Manager also ensures that departmental and support personnel are focused on continuous improvement and supports a lean culture of inventory, people, and processes. This will include a strong understanding of labor management and forecasting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead and direct the Fulfillment Operations Group in the achievement of key goals in the area of order processing and delivery, quality assurance management, inventory management, purchasing management, cost management, process layouts, process improvements, and employee training and development.
• Work with the Site Director to influence corporate strategic plans.
• Work with functional leaders within the company to ensure compliance to company policy and procedures.
• Ensure that the facility is in compliance with Federal/ State/ local ordinances, laws, and regulations.
• Ensure that safety is always a strong part of the culture and environment within the facility.
• Obtain annual, monthly, and daily goals for various productivity and quality levels.
• Lead the Fulfillment group to operate in a cost-effective and competitive manner while driving continuous improvement.
• Manage, train, and develop the facility managers and supervisors in hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, addressing complaints, and resolving problems or removing obstacles.
• Actively contribute to the development of direct reports.
• Full work week responsibility of client or clients (including 2nd shift & weekend/donut shifts if applicable).
• Lead Individual Performance Management program for the area.
• Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
• Deliver performance evaluations to direct reports and provide feedback as necessary including salaried members of management.
• Promote and develop a culture of continuous improvement within the value stream.
• Deliver productivity and improvements in line with KPIs.
• Ownership of lean process improvement and CI initiatives.
• Ensure all training and skills development programs, along with all Standard Operating Procures (SOPs) within the value stream are up to date and maintained.
• Promote a culture of high accountability, engagement, and associate empowerment.
• Manage relationships with on-site seasonal staffing representatives and advise the director of operations on seasonal labor needs.
• Budget management for value stream.
• Perform all other duties assigned by the Site Director.

Compensation:

$120,000-$130,000 per year
