Position Overview
Our client, a global leader in veterinary diagnostics, is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to lead a high-volume laboratory operation in Greensboro, NC.
This is a senior leadership role overseeing large teams, multiple levels of management, multiple shifts, budgets, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a proven operations leader who knows how to develop people, improve processes, manage through change, and drive measurable results in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead day-to-day operations for a high-volume veterinary diagnostic laboratory.
- Manage and develop managers and supervisors while providing leadership across multiple shifts and departments.
- Establish and track KPIs around quality, productivity, turnaround time, safety, and financial performance.
- Develop and manage operational budgets and financial objectives.
- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify operational challenges and implement solutions that improve efficiency and scalability.
- Build a culture of accountability, employee engagement, development, and retention.
- Coach and develop leaders while strengthening overall team performance.
- Lead change-management initiatives and operational projects.
- Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams on business priorities and growth initiatives.
- Ensure operations meet company quality, safety, and laboratory standards.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing large, high-volume operations.
- Experience leading operations across multiple shifts.
- Proven experience managing managers, supervisors, and large frontline teams.
- Strong background in employee development, performance management, and engagement.
- Experience managing operational budgets and financial performance.
- Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or operational excellence programs.
- Proven ability to lead teams through organizational change and growth.
- Strong project management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with both senior leadership and frontline employees.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Tableau, and related business tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Laboratory, healthcare, diagnostics, manufacturing, distribution, or similar high-volume operational experience.
- Experience implementing large-scale process improvements.
- Experience leading operations through periods of rapid growth or transformation.
Compensation & Benefits
- $150,000–$170,000 base salary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates within a veterinary diagnostic laboratory. Employees may have exposure to biohazards, zoonotic disease agents, and hazardous chemicals and must follow established laboratory safety procedures and protocols.
