Job summary

Joseph Michaels International in Richmond, VA seeks a General Operations Manager to oversee branch operations, sales and production for our office clientele and staff.

You will lead, mentor and coordinate a team of managers, subs and vendors, review budgets, contracts and pipelines, and drive continuous improvement with a servant-leader approach. A strong background in residential construction and local vendor networks is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of custom residential construction.
• Familiar with production building (multiple homes).
• Hard work ethic and strong problem-solving skills.
• Servant-leader management style.
• Familiar with the South Richmond VA area and local vendors.

Responsibilities

• Review new leads with Sales Team.
• Review advertising and approve budget.
• Provide weekly updates with Division President.
• Review sales pipeline, contracts, starts, warranty, settlements, etc.
• Review projections and challenges with managers and corporate leadership.
• Inspect jobs when necessary.
• Conduct final review meetings.
• Plan reviews.
• Recruit, hire, train, mentor and supervise employees, subs and vendors.
• Demonstrate networking expertise.
• Negotiate contracts and hire subs and suppliers.
• Review overhead costs and general P&L.
• Address customer concerns and communicate resolutions.
