Job summary

Colorado School of Mines seeks an Associate Director of Operations/Conferences and Event Services to lead campus event operations in Golden, overseeing moving, housing, AV, and venue services. You will supervise staff, coordinate with IT, Human Resources, and campus partners, and ensure policy compliance across events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution, or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience in a university or hotel setting, with conference/event coordination.
• 3 years of supervision experience, including staff development and training.
• 3 years of events management experience with professional sound, video and lighting systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, oversight, and support to full-time staff.
• Oversee daily operations of venues and information desk; manage event scheduling and software systems.
• Collaborate with IT, Marketing, and Design Office on infrastructure, content, and pricing.
• Oversee moving, housing, AV equipment, inventory, and vendor relationships.
• Develop and enforce campus event policies, risk management, and compliance.
