Job summary

Colorado School of Mines invites applications for an Associate Director of Operations/Conferences and Event Services at its Golden, CO campus. You will provide leadership for internal and external event operations across campus spaces and oversee Moving & Event Support, housing staff, and vendor relations.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating with IT and Marketing, managing event software, updating pricing, ensuring compliance with campus policies, and delivering exceptional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of professional university/hotel/resort level experience in conference/event coordination.
• 3 years of supervision experience with staff development.
• 3 years of experience in events management with AV systems knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders and departments.
• Strong administrative and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, oversight, and staff development for full-time and student staff.
• Oversee daily operations of event services, including venue management and IT liaison.
• Manage budgets, pricing proposals, and relationships with internal/external clients.
• Ensure policy compliance and risk management for campus events.
• Lead scheduling, conferencing software, and vendor coordination.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Facilities, and Dining to optimize guest experience.
