Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking an experienced Operations Engineering leader for MPLX West to manage multi-discipline teams supporting gas and crude assets. The role oversees pipeline and processing facilities across Midland, San Antonio, and Oklahoma City with budget and project accountability.

You will guide project managers on operating expenses and capital projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with PSM, MOC, and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Ten years engineering experience required.
• Five years industry experience required.
• Knowledge/experience in processing operations, project management and design of gathering and compression systems required.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance regarding Facility, Pipeline, & Process operations to Operations & Engineering teams.
• Lead team of Project Managers for facility Operating Expense and Maintenance Capital projects with timely schedule and budget updates.
• Develop Capital and Expense budgets for areas of responsibility to support streamlined decision making by Operations Director.
• Clearly communicate expectations and evaluate personnel performance; guide career development and appraise performance.
• Collaborate with MPLX work teams and key stakeholders including Business Development, Engineering, Operations, Environmental, Safety, and Accounting.
• Direct and support technical requests and strategically distribute workload in support of business priorities.
• Identify and prioritize key support opportunities with Operations management and drive accountability.
• Support Capital Projects through design reviews, PHA’s and HAZOPs and implement findings.
• Ensure PSM practices are followed through MOC’s and lead incident investigations with item close-out.
