Stanford University Libraries is seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to join the Digital Library Systems & Services group. The role focuses on Linux-based infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud technologies to support the library's digital estate and discovery environment.
The successful candidate will design, implement, and secure multi-system platforms, while coaching team members on complex deployments and vendor management at Stanford's Palo Alto campus.

Digital Library Systems & Services (DLSS) is the directorate of Stanford Libraries charged with developing and maintaining the digital presence of the libraries. We develop applications that support the discovery, dissemination and preservation of library collections - both physical and born digital. The position is part of the operations group - the team of engineers, analysts and librarians tasked with supporting our development teams and maintaining the digital estate of the libraries. This includes the library catalog and discovery environment, our digital exhibits, the Stanford Digital Repository, and other applications, storage and backup systems, most of which run on our local virtual machine infrastructure. The successful candidate will have experience with Linux (Ubuntu/Debian preferred), infrastructure as code, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
