OCLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (DevOps) to support the Wise ILS platform used by public libraries. The role focuses on security, reliability, scalability, and efficiency through automation and monitoring.

You will lead incident resolution, collaborate with development teams on CI/CD, and mentor colleagues while contributing to production reliability in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years in DevOps, Systems Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related roles.
• Strong Linux (RHEL) administration and troubleshooting.
• 6+ years of Ansible and automation/IaC experience.
• Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting.
• Experience with SQL/MySQL.
• Monitoring, incident management, and production support expertise.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure.
• Automate operational tasks, deployments, and configuration management.
• Improve infrastructure provisioning, patching, upgrades, and platform maintenance processes.
• Implement and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.

The job details are as follows:

OCLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (DevOps) to support and enhance the Wise Integrated Library System (ILS) platform used by public libraries. This role focuses on ensuring the platform remains secure, reliable, scalable, and efficient through automation, monitoring, infrastructure management, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Design, maintain, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure (RHEL preferred).
• Automate operational tasks, deployments, and configuration management using Ansible and scripting (Bash/Python).
• Improve infrastructure provisioning, patching, upgrades, and platform maintenance processes.
• Implement and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.
