Job summary

Redwire Defense Tech in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking an Operations Director to lead our energy systems manufacturing facility, overseeing solid oxide fuel cells, battery packs, and related assemblies. You will drive production, process improvements, and strategic planning to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.

The role requires 7-10+ years in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in senior leadership, strong lean expertise, budget oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to fuel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• 7-10+ years in progressive manufacturing operations with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in lean manufacturing, operational excellence, and cost reduction.
• Excellent leadership, analytics, and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead site safety culture and regulatory compliance across operations.
• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with growth goals.
• Oversee production planning, scheduling, procurement, and quality assurance.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies.
• Set and monitor KPIs; manage budgets and capital expenditures.
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, program management, and sales.
• Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team.
• Represent the site at industry events and ensure regulatory compliance.
