An Investment Management Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Senior Operations Associate.
Responsibilities
- Actively support a diversified portfolio of asset-backed securities, including (but not limited to) reperforming loans, CMBS, direct real estate, marketplace loans, CLOs, non-U.S. ABS, and CMBX/ABX.
- Daily and monthly position and P&L reconciliation; sign off on reconciliations with the administrator and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Month-end reconciliation, including processing factor updates, principal and interest distributions, and interest shortfalls within internal systems. Utilize Intex for remittance reports, offering documents, and investor reporting for select portfolio investments.
- Portfolio valuation support; assist the PM with month-end pricing of the ABS portfolio, manage pricing requests with counterparties and vendors, and participate in the pricing challenge process. Prepare and submit portfolio summaries to the Valuation Committee.
- Marketplace and reperforming loan securitizations; collaborate with legal and investment teams on deal executions and provide ongoing support for reporting and subsequent security purchases.
- Trade affirmation, confirmation, and settlement across the full trade lifecycle, including instrument setup, transaction booking, and coordination with prime broker settlement teams to resolve issues.
- Perform other duties, as needed.
Qualifications
- General knowledge of structured credit asset classes, including ABS, RMBS, CMBS, and CLOs.
- 3–4+ years of middle- or back-office experience, preferably within a buy-side investment firm.
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Experience with portfolio management systems such as Geneva, VPM, or similar platforms.
