Job summary

IDB Group in Washington, DC is seeking an Operations Senior Analyst to perform technical and analytical activities that improve the quality of the Department's operational products, including loan proposals and technical co-operations.

You will collaborate with operations teams within the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Department to enhance portfolio performance and coordinate with divisions to advance efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, public administration, international relations, political science, law or related field.
• One year of relevant experience (preferably three) in project design, management, evaluability, monitoring and evaluation.
• Experience supporting the project cycle, including preparation, implementation, and reporting; data analysis and dashboard development is desirable.
• Experience in the LAC public sector and/or international development organizations is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of IDB policies, instruments, procedures, and systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical, technical, and research support to sovereign-guaranteed and non-sovereign-guaranteed operations through key review stages.
• Review project proposals to strengthen design, evaluability, development effectiveness, risk management, and overall quality.
• Ensure operational products align with Bank policies, standards, priorities, country needs, and international practices.
• Conduct sector research, policy reviews, comparative analyses, and data-driven assessments to inform project prep and implementation.
• Monitor pipeline and portfolio performance, identify bottlenecks and risks, and recommend actions to improve delivery.
• Track preparation, quality, and timely submission of project completion reports and apply lessons learned.
• Prepare dashboards, analytical reports, briefs, and presentations to support management decisions.
• Coordinate with CSD divisions and units to advance operational effectiveness and disseminate best practices.
