Job summary

IDB Group in Washington, DC seeks a strategic Sector Manager for Climate Change and Sustainable Development. You will head a multidisciplinary team across Washington and regional offices, guiding policy, programs and research in biodiversity, disaster risk management, housing, sustainable cities, and climate resilience.

Strong leadership, international experience, and a track record in complex development settings are required.

Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent advanced degree in Sustainable Development, Environmental Sciences, Economics, Public Policy, Engineering, Urban Development, Natural Resource Management, Disaster Risk Management, International Development, Business Administration, or other relevant fields.
Extensive international professional experience with leadership in multidisciplinary, multicultural organizations.
Proficiency in English; Spanish and other languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and mentor a multidisciplinary team located in Washington, D.C. and in Country Offices across LAC.
Oversee conception, preparation, supervision, and implementation of sector operations and knowledge products.
Develop sector policies, research, and knowledge agenda; coordinate dissemination of best practices.
Advise senior management on strategies, policies, and guidelines related to climate, sustainability, biodiversity and natural capital, and urban development.
