Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced OpenStack-focused engineer to join our cloud platform team. You will help design features, validate releases, and drive deployment automation for our private cloud portfolio.

You will apply Advanced Linux, Python/GoLang, and Ansible skills to optimize performance, security, and developer experience while collaborating with Architecture, SRE, and Portal teams across the stack.

Qualifications

• Advanced Linux knowledge and hands-on experience.
• Experience with OpenStack deployments.
• Proficiency with Python or GoLang, including ability to write basic scripts/software.
• Experience writing Ansible playbooks.
• Prior knowledge of Git and peer‑review workflow.
• Experience with CI/CD tools.
• Knowledge of testing tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Architecture on designing new features and capabilities for the OpenStack product.
• Research software, hardware, and other technologies to advance the private cloud portfolio.
• Optimize the cost, availability, performance, and developer experience of the OpenStack product.
• Validate new OpenStack releases through automated functional and performance testing.
• Integrate evolving security and compliance requirements into OpenStack product releases.
• Evolve and enhance deployment automation capabilities.
• Support the SRE team for L3 escalations.
• Partner with Architecture, SRE, and Portal teams to design, operate, and enable consumption of cloud services.
