Job summary

Varmoda seeks a Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect with 12+ years of experience for an on-site government facility. Strong OpenShift, security, automation, and infra management skills are required.

The role supports mission-critical platform infrastructure and requires five days on-site with a Secret clearance and commuting distance. Independent worker with a proactive mindset will integrate across virtualization, DevOps, monitoring, and cybersecurity responsibilities while supporting

Qualifications

At least 12 years of experience in the field.
At least 4 years of hands-on OpenShift experience.
Active Secret clearance.
On-site position at a government facility; commutable residency required.

Responsibilities

Monitor and optimize system performance and implement corrective actions.
Manage and maintain application integration with TCP/IP, routing, and firewalls.
Conduct cybersecurity vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures.
Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline deployments and management.
Deploy and manage machines with VMware, vCenter, Kickstart, Puppet, Foreman, CIS-CAT.
Configure host-based security systems and apply DevOps IaC practices.
Utilize monitoring/logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, NetCool, SolarWinds.
Patch and manage systems using Red Hat Satellite Server.
Provide hardware support for servers/workstations and support mission-critical operations.
