Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking an OpenShift Platform Engineer to design, build, operate, and secure a Kubernetes‑based hosting platform for global workloads from Radford, VA (Remote).

You will implement IaC with Helm, Kustomize, Terraform, and GitOps tools, manage CSI drivers, patch clusters, and provide on‑call support. DoD clearance eligibility and a IT-related bachelor’s degree are required.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizens eligible for DoD clearance (Secret).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an IT-related field.
• Senior‑level hands‑on Kubernetes experience (OpenShift, Rancher, or upstream Kubernetes).
• Experience deploying and managing CSI drivers for dynamic storage.
• Strong IaC experience using Helm, Kustomize, Terraform, and GitOps tools (Argo CD/Flux).
• Security+ or equivalent Level II certification; CK A or Red Hat OpenShift Admin certs within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain a Kubernetes‑based enterprise hosting architecture.
• Develop IaC for provisioning/configuring Kubernetes clusters and services.
• Provide day‑to‑day Kubernetes cluster administration: patching, upgrades, maintenance.
• Configure CNI plugins (Calico, Cilium, OpenShift SDN) and CSI drivers.
• Monitor resources and advise leadership on capacity needs.
• Harden clusters per best practices and cybersecurity controls.
• Troubleshoot networking, storage, and runtime issues; maintain docs.
• Provide on‑call production support and after‑hours escalation.
