Job summary

Leidos is seeking an OpenShift Enterprise Architect with 8+ years of senior-level experience to design, implement, and govern enterprise OpenShift platforms for NASA OSI/FRED IT. You will lead architecture strategy, platform governance, security, and cross‑organizational collaboration to ensure scalable, secure OpenShift environments.

You will define patterns, lifecycle workflows, and observability while guiding app onboarding, multi‑cluster governance, and patching, in a complex on‑premises

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• 8+ years of combined OpenShift, Kubernetes, and/or Linux experience.
• Current Red Hat OpenShift Administration certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficient OpenShift administration, cluster management, deployment, troubleshooting, and patching.
• Strong Kubernetes concepts
• Linux CLI and system administration experience.
• Experience with container technologies and orchestration platforms.
• Networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, security.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end architecture for enterprise OpenShift platform including topology, compute/storage, and HA patterns.
• Develop lifecycle plans, deployment workflows, and baselines.
• Establish standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns for container workloads.
• Lead platform capacity planning and performance optimization.
• Design on‑prem and hybrid OpenShift environments incl. installation, upgrades, and multi‑cluster governance.
• Govern cluster objects (namespaces, ingress, storage classes, RBAC, quotas).
• Ensure backup/DR and platform observability; cross‑cluster workload onboarding.
• Implement enterprise security policies and zero‑trust controls across clusters.
• Provide architectural guidance for integration, migration, and workload onboarding to OpenShift.
• Architect monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana, logging platforms, and alerting.
