Job summary

Leidos is seeking a highly experienced OpenShift Enterprise Architect to design, govern, and optimize an on-premises OpenShift environment supporting NASA OSI/FRED workloads. You will lead architecture, security, and governance across multi-cluster deployments, with emphasis on zero-trust, backup, and disaster recovery.

Strong Kubernetes/Linux skills and OpenShift certs are required, with 8+ years of senior experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of combined OpenShift, Kubernetes, and/or Linux experience.
• Current RedHat OpenShift Administration certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficient in OpenShift administration including cluster management, deployment, tuning, and patching.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts and principles.
• Solid experience with Linux OS and system administration tasks.
• Scripting in Python for automation and management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end architecture for the enterprise OpenShift platform including topology and HA patterns.
• Develop lifecycle plans, deployment workflows, and baselines.
• Establish architectural standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns.
• Lead capacity planning, scalability modeling, and performance improvements.
• Design on-prem and hybrid OpenShift environments including upgrades and multi-cluster governance.
• Oversee cluster objects, security controls, and platform observability.
• Provide oversight for application onboarding, integration patterns, and migrations.
• Implement security policies, zero-trust controls, and PKI/TLS management.
• Architect networking, ingress, load balancing, DNS, and firewall structures.
• Define observability using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk; implement GitOps with ArgoCD.
• Produce architectural diagrams, governance docs, and TD packages.
