Job summary

Jobtailor in Washington DC seeks a senior operations engineer to provide day-to-day support for mission-critical apps. You will deploy and manage OpenShift-based platforms, support MuleSoft APIs, and develop automation with Ansible.

You will configure service mesh, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate across teams to improve reliability. The role requires extensive OpenShift experience, API management expertise, and a proactive approach to incident response and change control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 8+ years in relevant field.
• U.S. Citizenship and active SECRET Government Security Clearance.
• 8+ years OpenShift enterprise-grade cluster administration.
• 3+ years MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and APIs under OpenShift.
• Extensive experience in Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline design and automation.
• Strong proficiency with Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
• In-depth OpenShift security practices (RBAC, SCCs, network, secrets).
• Advanced troubleshooting across containers, APIs, integration, network, OS, DB.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for mission-critical applications.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications on OpenShift.
• Support MuleSoft APIs and integration services for secure communication.
• Develop automation using Ansible Automation Platform to streamline deployments.
• Configure and support Service Mesh technologies for microservices traffic and observability.
• Troubleshoot complex issues with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor performance and implement corrective actions for reliability.
• Support deployments, upgrades, patches and releases per change/config management.
• Create and maintain deployment guides and system configuration docs.
• Lead root cause analysis and incident response activities.
• Collaborate to evaluate new technologies and drive continuous service improvement.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotations.
