DTEX is seeking a Senior Engineer – OpenSearch to lead development and optimization of large-scale OpenSearch clusters, contributing to IRM and DLP products. You will mentor teams, engage with the OpenSearch community, and collaborate with global stakeholders to drive innovations in search technologies.

The role requires deep OpenSearch expertise, extensive data-handling experience, and strong Python/JVM skills, with hybrid or remote work options and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Deep expertise in OpenSearch internals and large-scale data across multiple nodes.
• Proficient in data management: ingestion pipelines, field mappings, cluster integrity, and search/aggregation tuning.
• Experience migrating Elasticsearch 6.x deployments to OpenSearch 2.x+.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and optimization of large-scale OpenSearch clusters.
• Mentor internal and external search practitioners and serve as consultant.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and open-source contributors.
• Design features and fixes for IRM and AI risk management products.
• Work with cloud environments, primarily AWS, for OpenSearch deployments.
• Iterate rapidly while ensuring high quality and reliability.
• Engage with global teams and the OpenSearch community.
