Job summary

Firecrawl, a fast-growing AI company, is seeking an Open Source Engineer to own our open source work from the main Firecrawl repo to the document parsing primitive anydoc. You will ship code, review PRs, and improve the repos weekly, focusing on engineering quality and self-hosted experiences.

You should have a strong open source track record and comfort owning a repo end to end, including API design decisions, with a bias toward shipping and adoption.

Qualifications

• Real open source track record—maintaining a popular repo, or significant contributions
• Experience owning a repo end to end, from triage to releases and docs
• Experience shipping code, reviewing PRs, and making repos better every week
• Have built parsers, crawlers, browser tooling, or developer libraries
• Understand how open source drives adoption and growth
• High agency—able to make scope, API design, and merge decisions
• Often a maintainer, ex-founder, or early startup engineer with public work

Responsibilities

• Own the main Firecrawl repo end to end — triage issues, review PRs, cut releases, write docs
• Keep the self-host experience easy: clone it, run it, keep it running, no surprises
• Build out new context primitives, starting with anydoc, our document parsing engine
• Make the calls on scope and API design for what belongs in a primitive and what doesn’t
• Think about what makes an open source project spread on its own, and build toward that
• Ship code and review PRs every week — this is an engineering seat, not a community seat
