Job summary

Arize AI is seeking a Design Engineer to craft ambitious interfaces at the intersection of AI development, evaluation, and observability. You will shape experiences that help AI teams understand, troubleshoot, and improve systems powering next‑gen applications.

You’ll pioneer Agent Experience and contribute to a design system while collaborating with open-source and async teams. You’ll prototype features for visualizing AI performance, anomalies, and explanations, while ensuring accessibility

Qualifications

• Strong frontend engineering skills with React and TypeScript.
• Good sense of interaction design and information architecture.
• Curious about AI systems and how agents, evaluations, and observability work.
• Prototyping quickly and iterating toward polish.
• Value accessibility, performance, and craft.
• Thrives in open-source communities and async collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and build compelling product experiences for Arize Phoenix.
• Create interactive visualizations for embeddings, traces, evaluation runs, and agent workflows.
• Develop reusable components and templates for our design system.
• Build AX primitives: interaction contracts and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Prototype new AI features and UI patterns for performance visualization and explanations.
