Job summary

Canonical is seeking Senior+ Engineers to drive architecture and contribute to open source across Ubuntu-related projects. You will code in Go, Rust, Python, or C, collaborate with a globally distributed team, and mentor others to ship high-quality software.

The role emphasizes leadership, strong design skills, and writing crisp documentation while engaging with the broader open-source community. Remote work is available with periodic travel.

Qualifications

Strong background in at least one of Go, Rust, Python or C.
Academic track record from high school and university.
Experience leading or mentoring teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead design and architecture of an open source project.
Collaborate with a globally distributed team on development.
Mentor colleagues and drive technical leadership.
Produce high-quality code and maintain thorough documentation.
