Job summary

Maersk in Houston seeks a Senior Project Coordinator to manage complex import and export shipments, including breakbulk, RORO, and OOG flat rack, from execution through final delivery.

You will coordinate with trucking providers, warehouses, customers and vendors, issue delivery orders, negotiate quotes, monitor costs, and serve as an escalation point for operational issues within the team, ensuring on-time delivery and proactive communication with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operations experience in project freight forwarding.
• Experience with breakbulk, RORO, and OOG flat rack shipments.
• Experience with CargoWise is required.
• Experience with air freight and government/ITAR.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate OOG import and export shipments.
• Issue delivery orders to trucking carriers and warehouses.
• Ensure cargo delivered on time and stakeholders informed of changes or delays.
• Mentor and train teammates on OOG cargo operations.
• Be the first point of contact for team operational issues escalated to project manager.
• Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Obtain and negotiate quotes from vendors.
