Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator to manage complex import/export project cargo from execution through delivery. You will coordinate breakbulk, RORO, and OOG shipments, while partnering with trucking providers, warehouses, customers, and vendors to keep cargo on schedule.

The role requires CargoWise experience and a strong cost-management mindset. Applicants should have at least 5 years in project freight forwarding, a HS diploma, and preferably a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Bachelors Degree preferred, but not required.
• 5+ years of operations experience in project freight forwarding.
• Experience with breakbulk, RORO, and OOG flat rack shipments.
• Experience with CargoWise is required.
• Experience with air freight and government/ITAR.

Job description

The Senior Project Coordinator position focuses on managing complex import and export project cargo shipments from execution through final delivery. The person will be responsible for coordinating breakbulk, RORO, flat rack, and other out-of-gauge (OOG) shipments, working closely with trucking providers, warehouses, customers, and vendors to ensure cargo moves on time and any issues are proactively communicated. They will also handle vendor sourcing and rate negotiations, issue delivery orders, manage logistics costs, and serve as an escalation point for operational issues within the team.

Daily responsibility

• Coordinate OOG import and export shipments.
• Issue delivery orders to trucking carriers and warehouses.
• Ensure cargo is delivered on time and customer is kept informed of any changes or delays.
• Help to mentor and train fellow team members on OOG cargo operations.
