Job summary

Nscale, a GPU cloud platform in San Francisco, seeks an Ontology Manager to own and evolve the organisational ontology within Foundry. You’ll shape how data is modeled, governed and consumed across workflows, reporting to the Nirvana Programme Lead and partnering with Data Source Developers and governance teams.

The role requires senior expertise in data architecture and ontology design, with strong cross‑functional collaboration across engineering, operations and business units.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, ontology design, data modelling, data engineering, analytics engineering, or related fields.
• Experience designing conceptual, logical, or semantic data models.
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines and production data workflows.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the development of the ontology as the single consumption point for all workflow projects.
• Manage the ontology backlog and triage change requests.
• Evaluate data-ontology change requests and assess impact on roadmap.
• Collaborate with Use Case Leads and Data Source Developers on ingesting new data sources.
• Lead use-case architecture discussions to align with strategy.
• Develop scalable governance checks for ontology development.
