Job summary

Samba TV, a leader in media intelligence, seeks an experienced Senior Ontologist to own the design, development, and governance of semantic data models for its knowledge graph. You will shape entity representation, enforce data quality, and lead ontology reviews with product and data teams.

The role blends hands-on ontology work with ML/AI integration, including embedding and LLM-augmented approaches, ensuring scalable graph architectures and strong identity linking across massive data sources.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in ontology engineering or knowledge graph development.
• Deep expertise in RDF, RDFS, OWL, SPARQL 1.1, and SHACL with production graph schemas.
• Strong Python, with production-quality code and data pipelines.
• Experience with entity resolution, record linkage, or deduplication at scale.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Info Science/Computational Linguistics/Math; masters/PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end ontology design, development, and versioning for Samba TV's core ontologies.
• Author SHACL shapes for graph validation and data quality enforcement.
• Define derived-attribute schemas like genre/brand/topic affinity, lifecycle signals.
• Lead ontology reviews with product and data teams; balance expressivity and scalability.
• Build knowledge graph pipelines in Python and SPARQL; map entities to canonical nodes.
