Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an advanced Repair Engineering professional in Chula Vista, CA for an onsite role. You will design and approve complex repairs, lead cross-functional teams, and apply CATIA CAD tools to develop solutions for metallic and composite structures.

The position requires a STEM degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience. You will work closely with airline customers to gather information, prioritize inquiries, and ensure timely, compliant resolutions while mentoring

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience in repair engineering.
• Experience in aerospace repair engineering or MRB/MRO roles is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs and approves complex repairs to minimize aircraft downtime and ensure compliance with FAA/EASA requirements.
• Manages multiple complex customer inquiries and leads cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Takes ownership to meet customer service goals and schedules.
• Hands-on use of CATIA and other CAD tools for design and analysis of components and repair solutions.
• Develops solutions for medium-complexity repairs requiring creativity for airline operations.
• Applies technical knowledge to repair design development on metallic and composite structures.
• Requests information from airline customers to accelerate development and approval of solutions.
• Plans and prioritizes multiple inquiries to meet service levels, coordinating with other teams.
• Collaborates with other organizations to address technical issues and provides guidance to junior engineers.
