Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Senior Site Operational Excellence Lead in Carlsbad, CA to drive strategic transformation across manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. You will lead Lean initiatives, deploy the PPI Business System, and partner with site leadership to translate strategy into operational execution.

You will measure performance, coach leaders, and deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost while enabling scalable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related technical discipline.
• 12+ years of relevant industry experience in pharma, biotechnology, medical device, or life sciences with progressive leadership responsibilities.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent Operational Excellence certifications preferred.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing executive stakeholders in matrixed organizations.

Responsibilities

• Govern the site's Operational Excellence portfolio with project prioritization, metrics, dashboards, and risk management to ensure execution and measurable value.
• Lead hands-on and coaching on the manufacturing floor to embed Operational Excellence principles.
• Drive strategic transformation by delivering initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement.
• Develop organizational capability through training, mentoring, and leadership development.
