Job summary

Intuitive Safety Solutions (ISS) is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to provide onsite support at a manufacturing facility in Modesto, California. This initial three-month full-time assignment focuses on environmental compliance, including wastewater management, pH control, permitting, hazardous waste, and regulatory adherence, while supporting broader safety programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3+ years EHS experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Experience with wastewater, hazardous waste, stormwater, and permitting.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and CA regs.
• Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to interact with all levels of plant leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance efforts with federal, state, and local regs.
• Support wastewater treatment operations, pH monitoring and corrective actions.
• Manage hazardous waste, stormwater, SPCC, and environmental reporting programs.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain permits, records, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate inspections, audits, and corrective actions to stay audit-ready.
• Deliver EHS training to employees and supervisors.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, HR, and Production to reduce risk.
