Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Construction Superintendent for an East Greenwich, RI project. You will supervise on-site construction activities, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain safety and schedule to meet project requirements.

This role requires 5+ years of field supervision, OSHA 30, and strong coordination with project teams. The position is contract to hire and fully onsite with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction field supervision experience with a general contractor, construction manager, or large trade contractor.
• Proven experience in commercial construction and construction management.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple construction trades on active job sites.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents.
• Experience managing project schedules and coordinating day-to-day field operations.
• OSHA 30 certification (required).
• Strong understanding of construction safety practices and jobsite safety management.
• Hands-on experience in construction supervision and superintendent responsibilities.
• Ability to oversee and coordinate general contractor and subcontractor activities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily on-site leadership and supervision of construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain the overall project schedule and ensure work progresses in a timely and orderly manner.
• Lead jobsite safety and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate upcoming work, priorities, and issues to the project team and field personnel.
• Review drawings, specs, and contract documents to verify work aligns with design intent.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to align field operations with goals.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, manpower, productivity, and quality; address issues promptly.
• Develop and maintain short-term schedules and look-ahead plans.
• Identify scheduling/coordination issues early and resolve with the team.
