Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Superintendent for Columbus, OH, to lead on-site construction on projects ranging from $5M to $50M. You will oversee field operations, ensure safety, schedule, and quality, and collaborate with clients, project teams, and trade partners through preconstruction to project completion.

The role requires 5+ years as a Superintendent in general contracting or construction management, with sector experience in Healthcare, Higher Education, Data Centers, or Life Sciences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in general contracting or construction management environments.
• Experience on Healthcare, Higher Education, Data Centers, or Life Sciences projects.
• Proven track record delivering $5M-$50M projects with strong safety and quality focus.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction specifications.
• Proficient in scheduling and document management tools like MS Project and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site construction activities aligning work with design, safety, schedule, and quality.
• Act as primary liaison with client reps, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Supervise craft workers and subcontractors, provide direction and oversight.
• Approve personnel actions and field purchases; guide interpretation of plans and methods.
• Support project management in workflows, procedures, and standards.
• Enforce safety programs and quality guidelines across the site.
• Document safety or quality violations and implement corrective actions.
• Drive productivity and optimize use of labor, materials, and equipment.
• Coordinate foremen and trades to manage labor hours and budgets.
• Collaborate with contractors on site to minimize conflicts.
• Identify and resolve field issues and constructability challenges.
