Job summary
Divergent is seeking a Director of Automation & Controls Engineering to lead the team building the automation backbone of its next generation machines and factories. You’ll define controls, robotics, electrical, safety, and factory automation systems to make production more reliable, scalable, and autonomous.
You will steer technical direction, governance, and organizational capability from first-of-kind development to fleet deployment, building architectures, standards, and scalable platforms
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, robotics, or complex automated equipment development.
- Proven experience leading engineering organizations and delivering cross-functional machine or factory automation programs.
- Strong foundation in PLCs, electrical systems, motion control, robotics, and machine safety.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of electrical, PLC, HMI, SCADA, motion control, robotics, and machine-safety systems from requirements through production.
- Guide engineering execution to meet schedule, quality, and production-readiness targets.
- Ensure reliability, maintainability, functional safety, and regulatory compliance through rigorous validation.
