Clear Labs, Inc. in San Carlos, CA is seeking a Senior Oncology Scientist to serve as the internal oncology subject matter expert, guiding assay development, automation, and systems integration on oncology biology and clinical relevance.

The role is primarily internal, shaping decisions on assay design and evidentiary requirements, with select customer, partner, and conference-facing science as a secondary part of the role.

Qualifications

• PhD in oncology genomics or molecular pathology required.
• Experience as internal advisor/SME in oncology genomics.
• Ability to translate complex science for non-scientific audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication; travel infrequent.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the internal oncology SME advising assay development, automation, and systems integration on oncology biology and clinical relevance.
• Stay current on oncology genomics literature, competitive assays, and clinical guidelines; translate into internal recommendations.
• Provide scientific input on assay design, panel content, and evidentiary requirements for oncology offerings (e.g., CDx, CGP, MRD).
• Bridge R&D/assay science with clinical, commercial, and partner teams.
• Support customers and reference labs with oncology assay application science and troubleshooting as needed.
• Represent oncology science with KOLs and at conferences; contribute to partner evaluations.
