Job summary

Exelixis Inc. seeks a Senior Medical Director to lead oncology trials across early and late stages. You will design protocols, monitor safety, and interpret data in collaboration with clinical teams and investigators.

Required are an MD with oncology focus and at least 8 years of post-residency experience in drug development, with strong cross-functional leadership and regulatory reporting skills.

Qualifications

• MD with board certification or eligibility in Oncology or Hematology/Oncology desirable but not essential.
• Minimum of eight years post-residency relevant experience in biotech/pharma.
• Hands-on experience in design, execution, medical monitoring and reporting of controlled oncology trials.
• Experience in clinical oncology studies with targeted or immunological therapies.
• Knowledge of biology relevant to clinical oncology and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute early and/or late stage oncology trials in development.
• Design study protocols compliant with GCP and regulatory requirements.
• Act as medical monitor for sponsor trials and assess safety events.
• Collaborate with safety groups and report safety data to regulators.
• Interacts with key opinion leaders and investigators to align development strategies.
