Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Dallas Presbyterian. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with no weekends, call, or major holidays. The position is a FLOAT to support multiple sites as needed.

The RN provides professional nursing care per standards, participates in quality initiatives, and supports the Compliance Program. Oncology experience is strongly preferred, with opportunities for LTIP participation and

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
• RN license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must maintain continuing education requirements.
• Entry level - 0-3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology; oncology certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care.
• Assesses health status by interviewing patient and medical history.
• Provides teaching and instructional material to patients and families.
• Provides psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Facilitates clinical operations and patient care.
• Manages patient medication refill requests and records in patient chart.
• Schedules consultations, pre-testing, diagnostics, referrals and future appointments.
• Triages patient phone calls and documents info in chart.
• Coordinates communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Assists patients in locating community resources.
• Inter-professional collaboration with care teams.
• Acts as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
