Job summary

MDC Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent II to oversee day-to-day residential construction activities in Nashville, ensuring schedule, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

You will lead trade partners and field staff, coordinate inspections, and maintain documentation while aligning with company standards. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years of superintendent-level experience in residential construction; a Bachelor's degree or 6–8 years of equivalent

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED; minimum 2 years of residential construction or field management experience at a Superintendent level.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; or 6–8 years of equivalent experience; experience managing multiple homes or production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee residential construction operations for assigned homes, phases, or communities, maintaining accountability for schedule, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Direct and supervise trade partners and subcontractors, ensuring performance, quality, safety, and scope adherence.
• Inspect and approve completed work to ensure compliance with construction documents, company standards, and building codes.
• Enforce OSHA requirements and company safety programs; take corrective action as needed.
• Coordinate and manage municipal inspections, approvals, and Certificates of Occupancy.
• Monitor progress, anticipate risks or delays, and adjust sequencing or resources to meet targets.
• Own accuracy and timeliness of jobsite documentation, schedules, inspection records, and reporting.
• Lead homeowner orientations and resolve construction-related issues with sales and customer relations.
• Provide training and mentorship to Superintendent I staff and other field personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
