Job summary

SHIMIZU NORTH AMERICA LLC seeks a General Superintendent/Construction Manager to supervise field operations, safety, productivity and quality on a large-scale project in Ohio. You will coordinate with the Project Manager and project team to drive progress, review drawings and manage subcontractors and suppliers.

The role requires 10+ years on-site supervision experience, strong knowledge of CSA/MEP methods, concrete experience, and a Bachelor's degree (or 15+ years related experience).

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office and MS Project.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local building codes and safety laws.
• Familiarity with permitting, review and inspection processes.
• Ability to manage multiple scopes of work concurrently.
• Forecast scheduling challenges and propose solutions.
• Commitment to task completion and on-site awareness.
• Honesty and decisive input in complex decisions.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise field operations, safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and project team.
• Review drawings and shop drawings for feasibility.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and OSHA compliance.
• Complete daily and weekly project reports; document status with photos.
• Receive purchased materials and prepare change orders as required.
• Generate QA and punch lists with Subcontractors.
