Job summary

The Christman Company is seeking a Project Superintendent for the DC Metro / Northern Virginia region. You will lead on-site activities, manage safety standards, review construction documents for constructability, coordinate with project teams, and ensure timely trade execution while maintaining quality and cost controls.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in CM/CE and 5+ years of commercial construction leadership, with strong communication and safety training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM/CE or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial construction leadership experience.
• Completion of classes in Construction Management, Project Management, Safety or Communication.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Represent Christman at the project site daily, setting expectations and commitments.
• Review drawings for constructability, phasing, protection, and site logistics.
• Establish safety, quality, and conduct standards on site.
• Develop and communicate a project-specific safety program.
• Plan site logistics, traffic, equipment, storage, and staging.
• Coordinate with PM, client, and trades to develop and execute a work plan.
• Oversee trade contract work to align with schedule and specs.
• Lead pre-installation meetings and coordinate overlapping work areas.
• Manage permitting and inspections; prioritize submittals and punch lists.
• Verify trade timesheets for extra work on T&M basis.
